I knew we'd just paid off this loan but $400 Billion to cure a flu epidemic / Health education Hygiene Education / upgrade to proper hospital equipment I think not
Like Woolworths ( now bankcrupt in the UK) and Coles who have an 80% monopoly here in Australia and where food is 2-3 time more expensive here than the UK (UK equiv $1 for 1Kg of bananas) we really do need to have a monopolies and mergers comission ( like the UK) to combat the Rupert Murdoch stranglehold on not only 80% of all the newspapers here but also SKY TV FOXTEL etc not to mention FaceBook Twitter Instagram ( Mark Zuckerberg)
That is break down ownership and control of these cross media monopolies to less than a third or 30%
Rather than subsidise eg QLD government workers on full wages and salary while the rest of the workforce ( 49% of it) and particularly the 'gig' economy ie the temporary part time casual workers who have no employer I recommend the following
A payment to non government workers of the equivalent of a minimum wage ie job seekers allowance regardless of their income
and to Non Government Organisations contracted to the government
As for the Government workers ( 51% of the workforce ) a cut in pay from full pay to whatever is necessary to subsidise the above - so no need to borrow any money at all
